Making Friends and Helping Others
The Newcomers Welcome Club is a social and philanthropic organization based in the Portland metropolitan area. Established over 50 years atom we have an active membership of over 200 women. Originally affiliated with the International Welcome Wagon, a few years ago NWC became its own entity. Our purpose is to provide a support network to ease the transition for newcomers moving into the area as well as returning and native Oregonians. We offer over twenty activity groups such as bridge, gardening, yoga Bunco, golf, knitting, dinner groups et. which provide wonderful opportunities to develop new friendships and lasting relationships. In an effort to give back to the community, we also help fund selected non-profit organizations. The organization for 2012-13 is the Senior Citizens Council of Clackamas County.
